Nicole Kidman: The Girl From Oz

Kidman, Nicole: The Girl From Oz

Nicole Kidman was born in Hawaii in 1967, but grew up in Sydney, Australia. Her incredible focus and drive to become an actress led her to roles in Australian movies, and at 22 she starred in a role that would capture the attention of both Hollywood and her future husband, Tom Cruise. The couple were married on Christmas Eve, 1990, and made a number of movies together before calling it quits almost ten years later. Despite a divorce that was anything but private, Nicole prevailed by taking a role where she could expand her talents. If transformations were becoming her forte, Nicole then upped the ante with an Oscar-winning performance in The Hours, changing her appearance so much that she was almost unrecognizable. In recent years Nicole Kidman's private life has taken center stage, with a much publicized romance and marriage with country singer Keith Urban and the birth of her first natural child. Her role as a mother is now her top priority, but this gorgeous, elegant actress has an extensive catalog of movies to remind us of the talent Australia can produce. Produced by Switch International. 2013 JSCA 60 min.
