Sam Chelanga (Champion Long-Distance Runner)

Sam Chalanga is a long distance runner originally from the Ngong Hills of Nairobi, Kenya, who moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, and became part of the Liberty University track team; in November 2009 he was crowned the NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Champion. In this program host Esther Mills welcomes this All American Athlete, who speaks about his love of running, including the thrill of setting the all-time record in the men's 10,000-meter race at the 2009 Brutus Hamilton Invitational; he also shares how he decided to become a runner and why he chose to attend Liberty University. 2010 JSCA 30 min.
