L.A. Homicide (Gangs and Violence) - Level 1

L.A. Homicide (Gangs and Violence) - Level 1

"Highly Recommended! Throughout the United States in cities with a population over 25,000 gang activity remains at peak levels, and, unfortunately, many youth gangs are linked to serious crime in America's schools. This documentary offers one approach that hopefully after viewing would dissuade today's youths from joining violent gangs." -National Media Review
This is an investigative documentary, which explores the inner working of the Los Angeles Coroner's Department. For the first time ever the L.A. Forensic Department opens up the doors of its autopsy rooms. Totally independent from the law and from the police, the scientists who work here are eminently credible and respected. With over 80,000 known gang members in Los Angeles, street violence is a serious problem; death occurs here every day. This eye-opening documentary follows the lives of the ambulance workers, police, judges and doctors who know the Californian megalopolis and its excesses better than anyone. And in looking at this side of death, the program hopes to help the living address the serious issue of gangs and violence. Released in Association with Journeyman Pictures. 07/09DE JSCA 50 min.
