Tully, Joanna (Photographer)

Joanna Tully is a professional photographer whose assignments can be for newspapers, magazines, books, brochures, and public relations, while also she is an accomplished fine art photographer for DVD, television and documentary art programs. Her work has been exhibited and published widely in the United States and she has been welcomed as a permanent member at the Twenty-Two Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work covers a wide range of subjects, including what she calls, Humanistic Photography. In this program she expands on that subject with host Esther Mills and explains how she uses photography as a catalyst for social change, aiming to make viewers of her work think differently. This type of photography may encompass themes regarding vulnerable people, covering topics such as women and aging or people with disabilities; also it may include focused views of beloved landscapes; for example, she shares nostalgic shots, which she captured of Coney Island prior to its renovation. 2010 SCA 30 min.
