20. Weedworld (Respecting Life's Basic Necessities)

14-year-old Dayna made a deal with her mom. Dayna agrees to work at her aunt Mary's farm and her mother will pay for a class trip to New York. But working on a farm is a lot more work than Dayna expected, and being a city girl she's not too fond of cleaning up after chickens and pigs. Why should she have to do such difficult and seemingly unimportant work? Falling asleep, she and Nilus the Sandman find themselves in a desert spy adventure in Weedworld, where conniving thirsty weeds are pitted against dehydrated flowers. In their crucial search for water, no one can be trusted. And if the flowers and weeds can't work together and find "The Great Hydron," the mighty source of water, it will soon become a deadly game. Awaking from this perilous adventure Dayna has a greater respect for the simple, basic things in life, and a greater admiration of her aunt. 05/08DE PI 30 min.
