"Highly Recommended. AIDS and other STDs are clearly a serious problem, and while this program has a very serious message about playing it safe when it comes to sex, it is written and presented in such an entertaining way that the 16- to 24-year-olds who form its target audience will never feel they are being lectured." -Judith Haupt, TV News Columnist
"Highly Recommended. This bluntly titled program, made in association with the National AIDS Education Campaign, uses the format of a current affairs' report. The "story" is the exposure of ignorance about the perils of promiscuity, emphasizing the dangers of ignoring safe sex." -Brian Courtis, Television Eye
Sex - without it, none of us would be here. It's a relentless human drive, and an uncompromising one. Something all of us, especially younger people, could use some good advice about, which is exactly the point of this program, written by screenwriter and columnist Morris Gleiztman, to put contemporary relationships under the microscope, to seek out safe sex, and to explode the myths and reveal the truth about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and AIDS. To accomplish this, the roving reporter in this made-for-TV documentary, John Doyle, talks to young people in their own language about sexual activity, asking probing questions, such as "Why are they having sex? What aren't they having sex? What influences them in their decisions about sex?" The delivery is comic, but the message is serious. Young people are interviewed in various real-life situations, from all walks of life, and the answers they provide are sometimes funny, but always informative and frank.
