Legends of Louisiana

Legends of Louisiana

From the important archeological site, Poverty Point, to the Ante-bellum plantations outside Baton Rouge, the legends include Gov. Huey Long, author Erskine Caldwell, artist Clyde Connell and blues musicians Tabby and Jesse Thomas, as well as a "Voodoo" drugstore and the Festival of Lights. Next to New Orleans' Aquarium, Garden District, French Quarter, Meterie Cemetery, Brennons, and costumes of Black American Indians; Lafayette's Culinary Classic; Cajun faith healing; St. Martinsville's real-life Acadian woman immortalized by Longfellow; Avery Island's bird sanctuary, alligator tag, and a tour of the Tabasco factory. Next we view shrimping along the Bayou la Fourche; deep sea fishing from Bayou Cocdrie; then return to New Orleans just in time for a complete look at the most famous - and infamous - celebration in America, Mardi Gras. Produced by Trailwood Productions, Inc. 99/09DE SCA 80 min.
