America's Tropical Rainforest: El Yunque
America's only national, tropical rainforest is located in Puerto Rico and represents one of the most complex ecological systems on earth. Here we are introduced to the El Yunque National Forest, which is home to over 250 species of plants, and is named for the island's most well known mountain; it is maintained by the US Forest Service and has well maintained hiking trails, where you will see a wide variety of trees, plants and waterfalls; also, if you listen carefully, you will hear the sounds of the coqui, a tiny tree frog which is indigenous to Puerto Rico.
