It's time to get ready for your Camp Hands On adventure, but first you need to collect a few supplies. Projects include: Friendship Tree - Introduce your friends to each other with this tree made from wire and wood shapes. Best Friend's Frame - Twin pictures are found in a papier-mâché frame covered with foil and stickers. 3. Take a Hike Into the Woods (cc)
Journey along the trail and see what you can find for your crafts; just remember not to disturb any of the wildlife. Projects include: Eyes Like a Hawk - Make a model of this majestic bird using foam and Styrofoam. Bear Wind Chime - Hope you don't see any bears, unless it's a wind chime bear made from clay pots and wood parts. Snake Mosaic Shirt - This painted snake design will slither across you shirt. Feather Pen - Use oil pastels to simulate the look and texture of a bird's feather and turn it into a pen. Shh! We're tracking some of the animals of the forest and looking for signs of the people and animals that lived here many years ago. Projects include: Forest Totem - Egg carton and paint are the form for a Native American Totem. Animal Print Frame - Simulate animal fur using oil pastels on a paper frame. Moose Mobile - This tin can mobile would be at home in your cabin or on the back porch. Petroglyphs - Pictures from Native American civilizations can have many meanings, create your own message with Styrofoam, paint and tissue. The sky seems closer when you're far away from the city lights. Projects include: Constellations - Create models of constellations from foil. Stars Mobile - This mobile actually glows in the dark, with stars and metallic embellishments. Rocket to ? - Take a trip to the sky in your own rocket made from Styrofoam. Constellation Wheel - Is that the Big Dipper? Your paper constellation finder will help you find out. And then make a great constellation game. When the weather is rainy it's time to create your own fun with games you craft yourself. Projects include: Hopscotch - Use acrylic paint on vinyl flooring to make a 1 to 10 Hopscotch game. Make Your Own Game Board - Attach a spinner and a path through the woods with cutouts; then let the game begin! Bubble Wand - See how to turn an 18" wood dowel into a wand that makes giant bubbles. Squirrel and Nuts Pillow - This clever paper pillow is filled with moss and grass from outside, but no acorns!
